The global climate is changing in terms of new attitudes towards man-made fibers and its importance in the development of environmentally friendly products. While manufactured fibers are advancing, energy and raw material costs have skyrocketed dramatically. Clearly, these soaring prices will not decrease anytime soon due to the current state of our economy. Instead of integrating with other manufacturing companies to reduce costs, manufacturers have found an alternate solution: recycling raw materials, especially petroleum based polymers. Although manufacturing companies are taking steps to reuse recycled materials, US companies are already behind Europe's recycling rate levels. However, consumer awareness plays a powerful role in pushing companies to go green through demand. It is important to conserve materials as we are headed towards a slight decline in our purchasing power. Remember to recycle any unwanted articles of clothing to protect our environment and to set a good example that will give our manufacturing companies a little push to become more aware of the benefits of recycling!
