MADONNA...MATERIAL GIRL

Back in Madonna's prime, she was the most controversial fashion/musician the world had ever seen. With her resemblance to Marilyn Monroe, Madonna put forth her sexuality as an attractive female into her music career, aided by her fashion ideas. In fact, for Material Girl, she decided on a slender light-pink tube-top dress that resembled that of Marilyn Monroe. Remember the 1990 MTV Awards? Madonna chose to promote her top-notch single, Vogue, by parading around in her Marie Antoinette costume, pouf and all. What about the infamous cone-bra? If that wasn't enough, she always chose to wear the most exquisite and bizarre designer outfits possible in her music videos. A modern red rubber outfit for Nothing Really Matters, black flowing silk dress for Frozen, a pink leotard for Hung Up, and the list goes on.

No matter how we see it, Madonna is the ultimate material girl. However, as time progresses and more is brought into her life and career, she barely has enough time to concentrate on fashion and music. She enjoys writing books, directing films, and raising awareness of her charity Raising Malawi.

Luckily, Madonna has a daughter, the soon-to-be-crowned Madonna Jr. Although she has no desire to fill her mothers' shoes in all the career choices, she enjoys fashion with a passion. With the assistance of her mother, Lourdes created a special line of clothing for Macys last year. The line was perfect for young girls to college girls dreaming of wearing the 80s look with a modern flare. Hell, people just wanted to wear something Madonna and Lourdes designed and styled themselves. In their mind, they are wearing Madonna's clothes. The line is for every day wear, rain or shine, at school or at work. No matter where you are, you will always be a Material Girl.
